MACHINING · MILLING

Milling – Precision for Complex Structures

Through milling, we manufacture a wide variety of technical components, such as housings, frames, and precision mechanical parts. Milling enables

  • complex 3D shapes
  • tight tolerances
  • components where the assembly workload needs to be reduced
  • Precision frames and housings for measuring instruments

Our machine fleet is best suited for milling workpieces up to 700 × 700 mm, and our maximum capacity is for smaller workpieces, where precision is paramount.

MACHINING · MACHINE TOOLS

Modern CNC Machinery – Efficiency and Dimensional Accuracy

Amak’s machine fleet consists of modern and versatile CNC lathes and milling machines, including

  • long-turn automatic lathes
  • 8- to 9-axis production machines
  • 4-axis milling centers
  • robot-automated CNC machines
  • Divisible work areas and through-cooling

We continuously invest in machinery and software—and it shows in our quality, delivery reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Would you like to know how we recommend handling your manufacturing needs?

Manufacturing Technical Support and CAD Design for Machining

If you’re not sure which manufacturing solution is right for you, we can help you as early as the design phase. We offer:

  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments
  • CAD Design and Technical Drawings
  • material selection and optimization
  • Cost-effective planning of machining processes

Our decades of experience will help you avoid unnecessary costs and shorten product development lead times.

Quality Assurance in Machining – Measurements and ISO 9001

A high-quality result is the result of a combination of design, machining, and inspections. We use:

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • 3D measurements and functional tests
  • documented audit process
  • traceability and project-specific reporting

Every part is inspected before shipment—our goal is a flawless end result and a long-term customer relationship.

MACHINING · PROCESS

Our Machining Process – Step by Step

Amak’s machining process is designed to ensure high quality, reliable delivery, and transparency for the customer. The process is suitable for both prototypes and mass production.

Starting a Machining Project – Needs Assessment and Manufacturability Evaluation

The customer provides an idea, a CAD model, or drawings. We go over them

  • material requirements
  • tolerances and technical requirements
  • the most cost-effective manufacturing method
  • possible optimization recommendations

At this stage, we ensure that the part can be manufactured reliably and at a reasonable cost.

Quotation and Schedule for Machining Services

We will prepare a clear proposal that includes

  • manufacturing method (turning, milling, or a combination of the two)
  • estimated production time
  • necessary additional services (surface treatment, heat treatment, assembly)
  • shipping method

CNC Programming and Machining Preparation

Before production, we do

  • CNC Programming
  • Selection of tools and fasteners
  • procurement of raw materials
  • test drive, if necessary

Our modern machine fleet also enables the production of complex parts in a single setup, which shortens lead times and improves precision.

CNC turning and/or milling

The machining itself is carried out according to a carefully selected process:

  • Turning → round and symmetrical shapes, threads, grooves, and additional shapes created with rotating tools
  • Milling → complex 3D shapes, enclosure structures, precise flat surfaces, and pockets

Automated and multi-axis machines reduce the number of production steps and improve consistency.

Finishing, Surface Treatment, and Assembly

If necessary, we also organize

  • surface treatments (anodizing, painting, passivation, etc.)
  • Washing and protecting parts
  • mechanical assembly
  • Packaging and labeling

Delivery of finished machined parts to the customer

Deliveries are made according to the agreed schedule and delivery method. For contract manufacturing customers, we can maintain inventory levels and ensure that parts are available exactly when needed.

MACHINING · FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Machining

Machining is a subtractive manufacturing process in which material is removed from a workpiece until the desired shape and precision are achieved. At Amak, machining includes CNC turning and CNC milling—both small and large production runs are carried out using modern machines designed for precision.

We machine a wide range of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, acid-resistant steel, engineering plastics, brass, copper, and specialty metals (titanium, Hastelloy, heat-resistant steels).

Yes. We produce individual prototypes, small batches, and large production runs. As our customers’ needs change, our machinery can be flexibly adapted to accommodate different batch sizes.
