Hienomekaaninen Teollisuus Oy is changing its name to Amak Oy
During the 1980s, Amak's subcontracting work increased, and by the end of the decade, most of its revenue was already coming from subcontracting.
The company is undergoing its first generational transition as the company’s principal owner, Gunnar Nikkinen, sells his stake to his daughter, Tarja Vaistila. At the same time, Tarja will also become the company's CEO.
Amak Oy is relocating from Vallila in Helsinki to its own facilities in Malmi, in northern Helsinki.
The 2000s were a period of steady growth. Low staff turnover and new office space provide a solid foundation for developing our operations.
At the beginning of the decade, Amak Oy is rapidly upgrading its machinery.
During the years 2010–2014, Amak Oy will also undergo a second generational transition. Tarja Vaistila's sons, Teemu and Santtu, are taking on leadership roles in the company and becoming owners.
